Lady Musketeers Tackle Valmeyer

On November 20th, the Lady Musketeers traveled to Valmeyer. The ladies knew they had to come out strong in order to add a win to their record. In the first quarter, the ladies put fifteen points on the board. Claire Grohmann made two, two-pointers. Makayla Whelan made one, two-pointer and went one for two from the free throw line. Hannah Sievers, Lexi Amann, Kassidy Ellner, and Amber Stengel made one, two-pointer each. The score at the end of the quarter was 15-11 Musketeers were on top.

The second quarter was not the team’s’ strongest quarter. They only added seven points to their score. Grohmann, Hope Guebert, and Reese Foster each made one, two-pointer. Meredith Whelan got fouled and went one for two from the free throw line. The score going to half time was 22-19, the Lady Musketeers were on top.

The ladies came out strong in the third quarter adding another thirteen points to the scoreboard. Megan Stellhorn contributed one, three-pointer. Foster, Amann, Sami Lucht, Stengel, and Guebert made one, two-pointer each. At the end of the third quarter the score was 35-24.

The Musketeers knew they had to create a bigger lead to come out with the win. The team was able to add twelve more points to the scoreboard in the fourth quarter. Foster, Sievers, Makayla Whelan, Megan Henry, Lucht, and Ellner each contributed one, two-pointer. The Lady Musketeers were able to walk out with a win. The final score was 47-28.

The team traveled to Waterloo this past Tuesday. The first home game is Friday, November 30th against the Lady Lebanon Greyhounds. Also, the ladies play the Lady Freeburg Midgets at home on Saturday, December 1st at noon. Come on out and cheer on your Lady Musketeers!
