On Monday, January 29, the Red Bud Lady Musketeers traveled to New Athens to take
on the Lady Jackets. The Musketeers were looking to get their twentieth win of the season. In
order to do this, they knew that they had to play with much intensity and excitement.
In the first quarter, Red Bud came out and contested with New Athens. Although the
shots were not falling for the Musketeers, they managed to hold the Jackets by playing good
defense. Sophia Koesterer started the game off by sinking a three-pointer. MaKenzie Harbaugh

after making a strong post move. She was also fouled on a shot and went two for two from the
free throw line. At the end of the quarter, Red Bud was leading 7-6.
The Lady Musketeers were lagging in the second quarter and were outscored by the
Lady Jackets sixteen to eight. Koesterer knocked in her second three-pointer of the night to add
another three points to Red Bud’s score. Harbaugh also put in a three-point shot. Richards
continued to battle at the post and was fouled on a shot. She went two for two from the free
throw line. Going into halftime, Red Bud was down 15-22.
In the third quarter, Red Bud did not hang their heads. They came out ready to make the

with two points. Red Bud was falling 27-30 at the end of the quarter.
The Musketeers were determined to outscore the Jackets and steal the lead in the fourth
quarter. Red Bud played strong defense, which kept New Athens from putting many points on
the scoreboard. Richards made a shot from the post. She was also fouled several times and
went four for eight from the free throw line. Laura Juelfs also knocked in a two-point shot from
the post. She was fouled on a shot as well and made one of two free throws. Claire Grohmann

On Thursday, February 1, the Red Bud Lady Musketeers hosted Marissa for Senior
Night. The Lady Musketeers were hoping to run the Lady Meteors to the ground after a close

In the first quarter, Red Bud struggled to knock in their shots. However, their competitive
defense kept Marissa from scoring much as well. Richards made the only shot of the quarter by
making a strong post move and putting in a two-point shot. Red Bud was down 2-4 at the end of
the quarter.
The Lady Musketeers added another six points to their score in the second quarter.
Richards continued to battle at the post and knocked in another two-point shot. She was also

Meteors. Red Bud went on a run and outscored Marissa seventeen to six. Koesterer sank a
three-pointer and made two, two-point shots to put seven points on the board. Grohmann also
