Opening Session of The 2019 FFA Convention

On October 30, 2019, eleven students from Red Bud High School attended the first general session of the 2019 National Convention and Expo. The students were Jeff Kern, Vance Schmidt, Sarah Bircher, Austin Umbdenstock, Chase Strong, Molly Ellner, Kailyn Moeller, Madison Falkenhein, Kayden Heinemann, Jake Siegfred, and Austin Grohmann. In this session, they started with watching a reflection video from last year’s convention and then went straight to opening ceremonies. They welcomed Ridge Hughbanks, the National FFA Western Region Vice President, to give a speech about life. Following that, they did the presentation of all the state flags, and also the American Flag and FFA flag, and welcomed all the advisors from each state. The rest was welcoming of the National FFA Band and Chorus, sponsor and donor recognition, and 50 years of women in FFA recognition. There was also a keynote speaker, Bob Goff, who talked about his isolated life and how it has benefitted him in his life. The session was then concluded with the closing ceremonies.
