2018 Winter Olympics

2018+Winter+Olympics

The 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea will begin in about a week and a half. The twenty-third Winter Olympiad takes place from February 9th through February 23rd. The games will feature 102 events in 15 disciplines. Russian athletes will be required to compete under a neutral flag for this year’s Olympics due to systematic doping. The games will also feature bobsled teams from Jamaica and Nigeria, two countries who usually do not send athletes to the winter games. Another strange occurrence is a unified Korean team. North and South Korea will combine together for a unified women’s ice hockey team–marking the first time Koreans will compete together since 1991. The United States will send 242 athletes to the games; some famous athletes competing for the United States this year are Shaun White, Lindsay Vonn, Chloe Kim, and many others. The 2018 Winter Olympics should be a fun display of international athletics.
