A March Madness Comeback
One of the biggest comebacks in March Madness wasn’t involving a team. It involved one player named Keyontae Johnson. The comeback began 3 years ago when he was playing in a game against in-state rival Flordia State when after a timeout in the first half of the game Keyontea suddenly collapsed. He was then rushed to a hospital and would be diagnosed with myocarditis which happened because of an infection with a covid – 19 related infection. Keyontea before he collapsed was a preseason SEC player of the year and was also very high on the NBA team’s draft boards. Sadly, Keyontae was ruled out for the rest of the season and lost all his draft stock. Fast forward to 2023, Keyontae transferred to Kansas State and gained all of his draft stock back. Then Keyontae came out and said that the NCAA was going to give him 5 million dollars 2 years ago to stop playing basketball. Instead, of taking the money he bet on himself and after transferring to Kansas State he made an amazing Elite 8 run that Keyontae said: “ You can’t put a price tag on this moment”. One thing you can take away from Keyontae is that you should always bet on yourself and never underestimate what you can do.
