My family and I recently went to see the new movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. If you have never seen Maleficent before, the movie tells the story of Sleeping Beauty from the point of view of the villain. In this version, Maleficent actually comes to love Sleeping Beauty as if she were her own child. At the end of the first movie, Sleeping Beauty falls into an eternal sleep that can only be broken by true love’s kiss. She awoke after Maleficent gave her a kiss on the cheek. The new movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, has a lot more violence and action than the first movie. I personally liked the first movie better as it followed a very nice version of the original fairy tale. 

In the second movie, the storyline wasn’t really based on the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, it was based more off of the types of fairy Maleficent is. Compared to the first movie, there were many more battles and the use of weapons. If you enjoy action-packed movies and fairy tales, you will definitely enjoy the new Maleficent; Mistress of Evil.
