Senior CC Runners

Maria Mueller

Maria has been a member of the Red Bud Cross Country team since her sophomore year of high school. She spent her sophomore year becoming accustomed to the rituals and ways of the Cross Country team. Her junior year, she was thrown into the head of the Girls’ Cross Country team because there were no senior girls on the squad and she was the sole junior. She embraced this role and continued it into her Senior year where she became Momma Maria, deemed so by the Freshman who were new this year. She continues being Momma Maria on and off the course–always there when her teammates need her.

Jack Simpson

Jack has been a part of the Cross Country team for the last 3 years.  Jack is a Varsity runner and is a vital part of the team. Early on in the year, Jack held swim parties for the team out at his lake to bring the team together. This helped bring the team closer and made them a family instead of just a team. Jack continues to help the team out by being a leader of the team and supporting his teammates with Eric and Alex.

Eric Prange

Eric has been a member of Cross Country since his Freshman year. He always has put forth an effort in practices while fighting for a spot on Varsity. Throughout the 2018 season, he has fought for his Varsity spot. At Red Bud’s home meet, he secured his spot as the 5th Red Bud runner to cross the finish line and will be competing with his team at Regionals in hopes of moving on to sectionals and then state. Eric has become a leader of the team alongside Jack and Alex and shows this everyday in practice and at meets.

Alex Sievers

Alex has been a member of the Red Bud Cross Country team his whole high school career. He showed up and worked hard at practice every day to maintain his spot on Varsity and maintained his varsity spot through the beginning of his Senior year until he developed tendonitis in his Achilles Tendons. For the past several meets, he has been leading the team from the sidelines while Jack and Eric lead from within the team.
