On Friday, April 28, 2023, the Red Bud High School’s Boy’s track team participated in the Jared Morris Invitational held in Nashville, Illinois. There were seventeen teams including Bluford (Weber), Breese (Mater Dei), Carlyle, Centralia (Christ Our Rock Lutheran), Chester, DuQuoin, Glen Carbon (Father McGivney), Herrin, Lebanon, Madison, Nashville, Okawville, Pinckneyville, Red Bud, Steeleville, Gibault Catholic, and Woodlawn. With the warm weather conditions, the boy’s team placed ninth overall with 24 points. Brayden Howard placed third in the high jump with a jump of 6 ‘1”, and also placed fourth in the long jump with a jump of 19’ 4”. Gavin Baldwin placed fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.30 seconds and also placed fourth in the 200m dash with a personal record time of 23.00. Evan Dressel placed fifth in the 100m dash with a personal record time of 11.56 seconds. Noah Gantner placed fifth in the long jump with a personal record jump of 18 ’10”. Trace Wagner ran a personal record time of 57.73 seconds in the 400m dash, and Landon Luthy also ran a personal record time of 1:00.38 in the 400m dash. Luke Miller ran a personal record time of 2:21.88 in the 800m dash. Lucas Schwartzopf threw a personal record throw of 41’5” in the shot put, and Devin Hall also threw a personal record throw of 35’10” in the shot put. Nolan Krack threw a personal record throw in the discus with a throw of 101’6”. 

On Saturday, April 29, 2023, Red Bud High School’s boys and girls track team participated in the Columbia Freshman and Sophomore Invitational held in Columbia, Illinois. There were seven teams including Columbia, Freeburg, Gibault Catholic, New Athens, Red Bud, Wesclin, and Waterloo. With the cooler weather, the girl’s team placed third overall with 54 points, and the boy’s team placed fifth overall with 36 points. Gavin Baldwin placed first in the 100m dash with a time of 11.6 seconds and also placed first in the 200m dash with a time of 24.1 seconds. Baldwin also placed second in the long jump with a personal record jump of 5.93m. Addyson Piel placed first in the 800m dash with a time of 2:56.0, and also placed fourth in the 1600m with a time of 6:40.7. Tess Simpson placed first in the high jump with a jump of 1.37m, and also fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:08.0. Annabeth Ohlau placed second in discus with a personal record throw of 24.62m. Jeda Friess placed second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.7 seconds, and also placed third in the 400m dash with a time of 1:07.3. Friess also placed fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 1:10.7. Luke Miller placed third in the 3200m with a time of 12:07.7, and fifth in the 800m dash with a time of 2:36.0. Zach Grohmann ran a personal record time in the 400m dash with a time of 1:09.1, and also threw a personal record throw in shot put with a throw of 5.93m.
