The Lady Musketeers softball team kicked off their week strong at Belleville West winning 6-1. Oliva Geralds pitched a great game, striking out 6 and only allowing 1 run. The bats were on fire with Ava Wagner picking up 2 hits and Lyla Hess scoring 2 runs. Crewe Wagner assisted with an RBI single and senior Allie Zipfel goes 2-3 hitting a 3-run homerun to start the game, along with an RBI double. That continues the Musketeers’ historical gaming-winning streak, bringing it to 11. Back at home to play the Wesclin Warriors, and beating them 7-2. Geralds had another strong outing delivering 7 strikeouts and allowing only 2 runs. The girls rattled the bats again, with big offensive days from Hess going 3-4, with a single homerun, Addi Dilley going 2-3, and Allie Zipfel going 3-4. That now brings the Musketeers’ streak to 12 straight victories. Unfortunately, the team lost that streak to a tough Mater Dei team. They battled with them till the end, with the final score being 7-11. Zipfel, Ava Wagner, and Alexis Koester each with 2 hits, along with Bast getting 2 RBIs. The girls were set to play Chester on Thursday, but the rain kept them from it.
