Week of March 27: A Double-Header and a No-Hitter
The Musketeers started off this week with 1 win against Granite City, and 2 losses to Okawville and Wesclin. They won against Granite City 3 to 1 with pitcher Danielle Schmitz allowing zero runs in 4 innings, then Olivia Geralds came in to finish the game. Lyla Hess, Lydia Koesterer, and Crew Wagner each with 2 hits, and Ava Wagner with 1 hit and 2 stolen bases. The team lost to Okawville 6 to 3, with Allie Zipfel going 3 for 3 and Ava Wagner assisting going 2 for 4. They were not able to come up with the win in Wesclin, but pitcher Danielle Schmitz did well striking out 3 batters. The Musketeers went into the weekend hoping for 2 double-header wins and got just that. Taking the win against Webber 15 to 0, and Fairfield 8 to 1. Hess threw a no-hitter and went 3 for 3 against Webber, while Addison Dilley and Lydia Koesterer assisted with doubles. Ava Wagner led on the bases, with 2 stolen and the team made no errors in the field. In the second game against Fairfield, Oliva Geralds pitched an incredible game, striking out 10. While Ava Wagner led on the bases again with 4 stolen. The Musketeers had yet another no-error performance in the field, ending the week with 2 wins and 2 losses.
