Girl’s Golf Week 4
The Musketeers Girls Golf Team entered the second half of their season with a tri-match against Father McGivney and Freeburg on Monday, September 6th, at Oak Brooke Golf Club. Annabeth Ohalu was the leader of the team shooting a 48. Melayna Crafton came in second for the girls shooting a 57. The third and fourth slots were filled up by both Raleigh Rosson and Lydia Koesterer, both shooting 63s. The Musketeers shot a team score of 230, beating Freeburg (235) and losing to Father McGivney (198).
The second tri-match of the week was against Freeburg and Dupo on Wednesday, September 7th at the North County Country Club. Ohlau was the medalist and top scorer for the team shooting 41. Second, for the team was Melayna Crafton who shot 50. The third spot for the team was Lydia Koesterer with a 54. Raleigh Rosson was fourth for the team shooting 58. The girls dropped a close match to Freeburg by a score of 200-203. Dupo did not report a team score.
The third tri-match of the week for the team was against Marissa and Steeleville on Thursday, September 8th at the North County Country Club. The lead scorer for the team was Captain Brenn Wilson who medaled with a 43. Ohlau followed close behind with a 44. Rosson and Crafton filled the third and fourth spots for the team both shooting 52s. The girls played well and beat Marissa by a score of 191-239. Steeleville did not report a team score.
The team traveled to the Roland Barkau Municipal Golf Course on Friday, September 9th to play in the Okawville Invitational tournament. Wilson was the lead scorer for the team, placing fifth out of all players in the tournament with her score of 83. Ohlau also medaled with an 88, tying for tenth. Rosson came in third for the team, shooting 111. Lydia Koesterer claimed the fourth spot, shooting a 118. The girls tied for seventh out of eleven teams in the tournament shooting a 400-team score.
The girls look to keep playing solid golf in their matches next week. Their first match of the week will be on Monday, September 12th, against Central High School at North County Country Club. Then they will head to Red Hawk Golf Curse on Tuesday, September 13th. On Wednesday, September 14th, the team will head to Chester Country Club to play a tough competition. To end the week, the team will play Okawville at Roland Barkou Memorial Golf Course on Thursday, September 15th.
