The NHS from the high school is collecting items and monetary donations at several locations. They are doing this for the Fisher house foundation in St. Louis. There are quite a few organizations in the community that have wanted to pitch in to help. Banks such as Dieterich’s, First Bank, North County Savings, and Buena Vista have all agreed to have collection boxes on site. The Saint John’s Lutheran Church will also have a collection for this cause. There will be an “At the Door Donation” on the 10th and 11th, at all of the services on those days. The NHS has also asked the Catholic Church to put a collection box out. All of the boxes will be out until the 11th of November.

The Fisher House is a Non-Profit organization that houses the families of veterans and serving members of the military if their family member is placed in a hospital. It has helped thousands of families. They cover expenses such as air travel and the obvious cost of staying in the area. Having begun in 1991, they have saved families up to $407 million in expenses.
