Lady Musketeers on the Road
On Tuesday, April 24, the Red Bud Lady Musketeers were scheduled to travel to Valmeyer to
take on the Lady Pirates, but the game was cancelled due to field conditions and will be
rescheduled at a later date.
On Wednesday, April 25, the Red Bud Lady Musketeers took on the Roxana Lady Shells. The
Lady Musketeers fired up the offense in the first inning. MaKenzie Harbaugh started the inning
off with a line drive triple to right field and scored on a stolen base to put Red Bud immediately
in the lead. The Musketeers added a single run to their score in the top of the fourth inning.
Sophia Koesterer doubled on a line drive to left field and scored on Nicole Allen’s hard ground
ball single to right field. In the bottom half of the inning, Roxana scored their first and only runs
of the game on a two-run homerun. Red Bud responded with another three runs in the fifth. The
inning started off with back-to-back singles from Darrian Stapleton and Harbaugh. Laura Juelfs
and Koesterer both singled on hard ground balls and drove in one run each for the Musketeers.
Juelfs scored after tagging up on Mackenzie Schweizer’s fly ball hit to right field. The Lady
Musketeers added another two runs to the board in the sixth inning. Red Bud held onto their
lead in the seventh and captured the win with a final score of 8-2.

Koesterer pitched the game allowing four hits and four walks with seven strikeouts.
On Thursday, April 26, the Red Bud Lady Musketeers traveled to Dupo to take on the Lady
Tigers. The Musketeers got their offense started immediately in the first inning. Harbaugh
singled on a fly ball to right field and scored on Koesterer’s fly ball single to right field as well.
Schweizer followed with a single to left field. Allen then singled to center field and drove in one
run. Todaro singled on a hard ground ball, scoring Schweizer. Madison Shields grounded out to
the shortstop, but received a RBI. In the second and third innings, the Lady Musketeers added
another two runs to their score. Red Bud continued to rally their bats in the fourth inning and
drove in five runs. The inning started off with back-to-back walks. Todaro scored on an error and
Shields scored on Alyssa Cowell’s RBI ground out. Back-to-back singles came from Stapleton
and Harbaugh. Juelfs followed with a double to center field, driving in two runs for the
Musketeers. Koesterer’s line drive single to left field scored another run. In the fifth inning, the
Lady Musketeers increased their lead by another three runs. Red Bud shut out Dupo in five
innings and earned the conference victory with a final score of 16-0.

Koesterer pitched the game allowing two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
Red Bud is scheduled to travel to Lebanon for a doubleheader on Tuesday, May 1; host
DuQuoin on Wednesday, May 2; and participate in the Marissa Tournament on Friday, May 4
and Saturday, May 5.
