2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing right now. Sadly, this year’s edition of the battle for Lord Stanley’s cup does not feature the Blues. This is the first time they have missed the playoffs since 2011. The Blues started incredibly hot but faltered in the second half. The Blues lost six straight games at one point during the season. The teams remaining are the Lightning, the Capitals, the Penguins, the Predators, the Jets, the Golden Knights, and the Sharks. The Bruins face the Maple Leafs tonight in a game 7 to advance to the second round. In the Western Conference, the second round matchups are: The Predators will face off against the Jets, and The Golden Knights face off against the Sharks. In the Eastern Conference, the Lightning face off against the winner of Bruins/Leafs, and the Penguins play the Capitals. I think the Stanley Cup Final will have the Tampa Bay Lightning squaring up against the Winnipeg Jets, with the Lightning triumphing and winning their second Stanley Cup in the club’s history.
