2018 NBA Playoffs
The NBA Playoffs are upon us again, after 82 games, the bracket is set. In the East, the Toronto Raptors earned the number one seed. The Raptors will face the eight seed Wizards. The Rockets earned the one seed in the West with 65 wins, a franchise record. Led by Chris Paul and James Harden, they should make a deep run. They will face the eight seed Minnesota Timberwolves, who earned a playoff berth by on the last night of the season. The other matchups in the West are the Thunder vs the Jazz, The Blazers vs the Pelicans, and the Warriors vs the Spurs. The matchups in the East are Cavaliers vs Pacers, 76ers vs Heat, and Celtics vs Bucks. I expect the Jazz, with its top defense in the NBA and rookie Donovan Mitchell, to beat the Thunder. The Trail Blazers, with potential All-NBA First Team G Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, to beat the Pelicans led by Anthony Davis. The Warriors despite missing Steph Curry, will still beat the Spurs. I think the Raptors backcourt of Lowry and DeRozan outduels the backcourt of Wall and Beal, and the Raptors advance. I think the Cavs advance against the Pacers. After years of Trusting the Process, the Sixers win a playoff series. I think the Celtics, despite injuries, beat the Bucks. My prediction for the NBA Finals is the Rockets over the Cavs. CP3 finally gets his ring as Rockets are crowned champions of the NBA.
