New Teacher Spotlight
Mr. Justin Andrade was born and lived out his childhood in Hawaii (The Big Island) and moved around a lot. He lived in Oahu and Texas for a time, but eventually landed in Belleville.
Mr. Andrade went to his first half of high school in Hawaii at a school called Helo High School, and then finished up high school at Belleville East. He went to SWIC to get his associates degree in construction management and decided to get a different associate’s and bachelor’s teaching math and science, but mostly math. Transfering to SIUE, he graduated and tried lots of different jobs.
He enjoyed being a carpenter for a while, and then worked in construction management. Mr. Andrade then worked in a lab as a lab technician, but disliked that. He thought about becoming a youth pastor, but now works as a teacher, teaching math to students at Red Bud. Mr. Andrade likes math because of how it breaks down larger ideas into smaller ones.
Mr. Andrade is currently 32 years old, has a cat named Lovey Dovey, and enjoys hobbies like playing volleyball, disc golf, and the guitar. In the past he has also played softball.
In his opinion, being a new teacher is hard, but he enjoys it.
Life advice that Mr. Andrade would like to pass on is to do all of your hard work while you’re young so you can relax when you are old.
