Lady Musketeers Still Winning

The Musketeers had quite a big week, continuing their winning streak to a total of 10 victories in a row. They started out the week traveling to Okawville and winning 6-1. Olivia Geralds picks up her 8th pitching win of the season, helping secure the Musketeers their 4th conference win. Traveling to Columbia next, the Musketeers come up with a 1-0 win, battling with the bats to the very end. Lyla Hess and Jayna Bast with 2 hits each, and Josie Meyer with a huge sacrifice bunt to score Alexis Koester for the 1 run. Geralds continued her great season with 10 strikeouts that game, putting her at her 9th win of the season. The team then moved on to play Steelville at home, winning in a shutout game of 15-0. Kendra Ehret picks up her 2nd win, only allowing 2 hits all game. The bats came alive during the game, with the musketeers putting up 18 hits in 4 innings. Ava Wagner, Addi Dilley, Hess, and Bast with 3 hits each. Ava Wagner and Hess going 3 for 4, and Bast and Dilley going 3 for 3. The Musketeers then traveled to Mascoutah to finish their week. They battled all game, rallying back from a 5-4 score in the top of the 7th and winning 8-6, with big nights from Bast, Koester, Meyer, and Danielle Schmitz. Bast, Koester, and Schmitz with the singles to get on base, and Meyer with another sacrifice bunt to help rally the team. This victory marks the team’s 10th win in a row, making this the longest winning streak for the Musketeers Softball program since 2013. The Musketeers are back in action next week with 1 away game and 3 home games.
