Seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA are encouraged to apply for the Flavorful Futures Scholarship.  Five scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded.  Learn more and apply online at https://www.flavorfulfutures.com/; deadline February 15, 2019.

  •        Seniors planning to enroll full-time in a program of biology, science, conservation, and/or a related field are encouraged to apply for the Migratory Waterfowl Hunters Scholarship, valued at $500.  Applications are available in the high school office; deadline March 5, 2019.
  •        Seniors are invited to apply for the Baldwin Athletic Club Scholarship.  Two scholarships of $500 will be given.  Applications are available in the high school office; deadline March 15, 2019.
  •        Seniors who demonstrate effective, voluntary, long-term dedication to the preservation, protection or enhancement of Illinois natural resources are encouraged to apply for the Illinois Conservation Foundation Scholarship.  Three scholarships of $2,000 will be given.  Apply online at http://www.ilcf.org/portal/sponsorship-opportunities; deadline March 15, 2019.
  •        The University of Illinois Urbana Champaign’s College of Engineering will host “Engineering Days” on February 15, March 29, and April 19, 2019. During the course of the day, you will learn about the different engineering fields, visit cutting-edge labs, talk to current college students about life as an engineering student, and get a good look at one of the nation’s top-rated engineering universities.   •        The University of Tulsa is holding its “Tulsa Time Overnight Visit” for seniors on February 17-18, 2019.   Participants will spend 24 hours living the TU lifestyle:  tour campus and residence halls, tour the city of Tulsa, attend a class, visit with faculty during academic interest sessions, learn about campus life from a TU student panel, and sleep overnight in a TU residence hall or campus apartment.  Bus transportation is provided from selected cities.   •        Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association (EECA) participates with other rural electric cooperatives in bringing youth to levels of government to learn about electric cooperatives, American history, and our government each year.  EECA will send one student from each school within its service area to Illinois Rural Youth Day in Springfield on April 3, 2019.   The top two students of this group will be selected to attend the Youth to Washington Tour June 14-21, 2019.  Current sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited to apply online at https://eeca.coop/community-youth-programs/youth-to-washington-program/.  The application deadline is March 8, 2019.
  •        Duke University offers students in grades 10-12 the opportunity to earn college credit in its Summer College for High School Students program, July 7-August 2, 2019. This program attracts students who represent the next generation of leaders from around the world and is designed to provide high school students with an academic and residential environment conducive to collegiate success.
