Red Bud Rallies

On January 4, 2018, the Glenn Wolter family suffered a tragic loss when their home was destroyed by a devastating fire. Glenn and Kristin Wolter and their two children were left without a home and all of the daily necessities, which we all take for granted.  The two children attend both the RBES (Alan) and St. John’s Lutheran School (Anna).  Glenn Wolter is the brother of Shelly Jokerst, RBHS’s guidance counselor. The day following the fire, the district took up a collection raising over $3200 so the family could immediately have money for clothes and food.  On January 10, RBHS’s FBLA collected $1000.00 in donations during a hat and jeans day.  RBES then held a pancake breakfast on January 20th, and raised over $6500. Then on Sunday, January 28th, the St. John’s Senior Youth in Red Bud hosted a barbeque fundraiser. The St. John’s Lutheran Sparta Youth Group also helped raise money at the barbeque by hosting a free-will offering bake sale. The Red Bud youth group raised $3900 for the family and the Sparta Youth group raised over $600. While the family gets back on their feet, our community has once again shown our compassion by doing all that we can to help them.
